BC Alkmaar was founded in 2008, at the request of the Alkmaar Sports Council, through the merger of three badminton clubs: Reflexion, Netwerk and Speedo.
The aim was to ensure that every sport was available in every neighbourhood in Alkmaar.
At that time, many badminton clubs were experiencing a decline in membership, and a better distribution was needed, partly due to the construction of the Oosterhout sports hall.
And that, in a nutshell, is how our friendly and sporting club came into being.
